beat yale!
A chilly Cambridge breeze.

I'm currently a sophomore in Quincy House concentrating in Social Anthropology at Harvard College in Cambridge, MA. I'm originally from Westchester, NY.

My interests concentrate around food, travel, art, fashion, and design. In my spare time, I cover arts news for The Harvard Crimson after a year on the admissions beat. I'm also publicity director and webmaster for the student-produced Identities fashion show as well as holding the same position for the Harvard Culinary Society. I'm volunteering in helping start up The Free Foundation, a Ghanaian NGO for public health education. In the past, I've worked as a researcher for a guide to Boston, a stringer for the now-defunct Cosmo!Girl, an intern for a garment design firm, and a business side intern for Ciba.

I spent summer 2008 as an associate editor at Let's Go publications, where I updated the Scandinavian and central European coverage for the bestselling Let's Go: Europe 2009 and Let's Go: Western Europe 2009. During my vacation time, I did work-unrelated travel. (My job required no travel - that was up to the researchers.)

During high school, I was Co-Editor in Chief of the newspaper and helped found a Gay Straight Alliance. I freelanced for the North County News, the local paper, where I met my mentor who started his own local paper, The Examiner News.

I've dabbled in the world of crochet, sewing, and painting. I'm ace with a makeup brush. I love the gym. I have a black belt in karate, but no, I cannot beat you up. I have read all three of Ruth Reichl's biographies. I do my best work in cafes.

Harvard Square: I really, really love Veggie Planet (47 Palmer St) and Crema Cafe (27 Brattle St) for casual food and drink. I own everything in 2-3 colors from American Apparel, (47 Brattle St) king of simple, fitted basics. Don't miss the end of season sale at LF (26 Church St) for the perfect of-the-moment dress and boots. I'll wander into Cardullo's, (6 Brattle St) just to ogle exotic chocolates. And the best company is always to be found in my house dining hall, where some of the coolest people ever eat.
